L’ hymne à l'amour in the Eternal City: A Song for the Ones Who Loved Us
PianoForte | Pierre-Louis Coallier
Composed : Marguerite Monnot | Artist : Edith Piaf
Wandering through the streets of Rome, the history whispered in every cobblestone, I stumbled upon a piano showroom. Drawn by an invisible force, I found myself face-to-face with a magnificent Steinway Grand piano. Its gleaming black surface promised a symphony of sound, and with a touch of trepidation, I sat down to try it out.
My fingers hovered over the ivory keys, searching for a melody that resonated with the magic of the moment. Almost instinctively, I began to play "L'hymne à l'amour," the hymn to love. The first notes washed over me, a wave of pure emotion. It wasn't just the beauty of the music or the majesty of the piano; it was the sudden rush of memories that flooded my heart.
As the melody unfolded, I thought of all those I've loved and lost. The love that sustained me, the laughter that filled my days, the gentle hands that held me through life's storms – all these precious fragments flickered before my eyes. The song became a poignant reminder of life's fleeting nature. We are here, a fragile flame burning bright, and our existence is only truly sustained by the love that surrounds us.
The love we share with family, friends, and loved ones is the invisible thread that binds us together. It's in those moments of helplessness, when we are at our most vulnerable, that the truest essence of love shines through. A hand to hold, a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on – these simple gestures become the cornerstones of our existence.
Playing "L'hymne à l'amour" in that Roman showroom wasn't just about testing a piano; it was a profound acknowledgement of the love that has shaped my life. It was a tribute to the ones who are gone, a reminder to cherish those who remain, and a promise to hold love close, for it is the very essence of our fragile, yet beautiful, existence.
"...Le ciel bleu sur nous peut s'effondrer
Et la Terre peut bien s'écrouler
Peu m'importe si tu m'aimes
Je me fous du monde entier
Tant qu'l'amour innondera mes matins
Tant qu'mon corps frémira sous tes mains
Peu m'importe les problèmes
Mon amour, puisque tu m'aimes""...
Ancora oggi, queste parole hanno un significato profondo. L'amore è tutto...
